Did you Enhance your Immunity?

High work pressure, irregular diet, chaotic work and rest habits... How can we effectively improve our immunity?

Why does immunity decline?

There are many factors that affect immunity, common are age, genes, environment, stress, sleep, diet and so on. Among them, age and genes are force majeure factors, which cannot be transferred according to their own will. Therefore, if you want to improve immunity, starting from diet is the most operable option.

To improve immunity, we need to understand the immune system first. The human body has three lines of defense: the first line of defense - skin/mucosa, the second line of defense - innate/non-specific immunity, and the third line of defense - acquired/specific immunity.

The first line of defense is physical defense through the skin and mucosa to prevent the invasion of external bacteria.

The second line of defense is a function carried in our genes, which are hardwired to actively attack and kill bacteria or viruses when they enter the body.

The third line of defense is unique to vertebrates, and when the second line of defense's immune "alarm," the third line of defense will be activated to destroy the invading bacterial virus.

It can be seen that the second line of defense, the innate immune system, is very important, and it is closely linked to the third line of defense. So what are the cells in the innate immune system? It has to be said that NK cells have the title of "frontline soldiers".

NK cells are lethal white blood cells, also known as large granular lymphocytes. NK cells are equipped with particles filled with powerful chemicals that can attack many types of foreign cells. The more active NK cells are, the stronger their defenses are, and the more likely they are to fight off infections and tumors.

The best known of the third line of defense specific immunity are T cells and B cells, where B cells are capable of producing antibodies. There are many kinds of antibodies, for example, the IgM (immunoglobulin M) index will be high within two weeks of infection with the virus, if the IgM decreases, the IgG (immunoglobulin G) increases, it means that the virus has been infected for A while, IgA (immunoglobulin A) exists in the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract, which can directly excrete the virus through the intestine. IgE (immunoglobulin E) was originally intended to fight parasites, but with the improvement of living conditions, there is no place for use, and if the index is too high, it is easy to cause allergies.

If we want to improve the activity of immune cells, we need to stop smoking and drinking, ensure sleep, a balanced diet, and moderate exercise. As we said before, diet is the most operable option, so how to rely on "eating" to improve immunity?

Vitamin A, vitamin C, zinc, selenium, etc. are common and effective nutrients that can be supplemented in appropriate amounts in the diet. In addition, there are mushroom extracts.

After research, the benefits of mushrooms extract for immune function are more prominent.

The mushroom extract mainly consists of polysaccharides, which has the function of immunomodulatory, and has the recovery effect on some chronic ulceration and inflammation. Commonly used extracts such as mushroom polysaccharide, reishi polysaccharide.

Kingherbs offers a variety of mushroom extracts: Coriolus Mushroom Extract, Lion's Mane Mushroom Extract, Maitake Mushroom Extract, Reishi Mushroom Extract, Shiitake Mushroom Extract, etc.
