A unique visit—stepping into a plant extract factory (JERRY BIOTECH)

2026.02.03

As the Chinese New Year approaches, everyone is busy preparing festive goods and packing their bags. Before the holiday, we embarked on a unique visit—stepping into a plant extract factory (JERRY BIOTECH) to witness how nature's wondrous gifts are gently awakened by technology.

Witnessing the Standardized Extraction Process

Following the production flow, we gained a complete understanding of the birth process from natural plants to standardized extracts.

1. Raw Material Pre-treatment:
In the pre-processing workshop, workers meticulously conduct manual sorting and cleaning to remove impurities and non-medicinal parts, followed by crushing or slicing.

2. Core Extraction:
The prepared raw materials are fed into large extraction tanks. Depending on the characteristics of the target components, the factory primarily employs two mild and efficient methods:

Solvent Extraction: Using solvents like water or ethanol, controlled-temperature cyclic reflux extraction is carried out. Much like a slow simmer, this method gently "awakens" and dissolves the valuable components from the plants.

3. Separation and Concentration:
The post-extraction mixture undergoes precise filtration and centrifugation to achieve thorough solid-liquid separation, resulting in a clear extract solution. This solution then enters a vacuum concentration system, where most of the solvent is gently removed under low-temperature, reduced-pressure conditions to produce a thick paste. This process is akin to "lightening the load" for the essence, enhancing its purity.

4. Drying and Forming:
If a powdered final product is required, the concentrated paste is passed through a spray drying tower. In the instant contact between atomized droplets and hot air, moisture evaporates, forming an extremely fine, free-flowing dry powder. All of this happens within seconds, maximizing the preservation of the components' activity.

5. Standardization and Packaging: The Final Promise of Quality
"Every batch of extract must meet stringent standards," emphasized the engineer. In the testing center, technicians utilize equipment like chromatographs to strictly control indicators such as active ingredient content, heavy metals, and microorganisms. Qualified products undergo standardized blending to ensure consistency between batches and are finally sealed in packaging within a clean environment, awaiting shipment.

Technology Extracts Nature, Health Enhances the New Year

The Chinese New Year is a time for bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new. Within these pipelines and reaction vessels, a different kind of fusion between "new" and "old" takes place day after day—using cutting-edge technology to safeguard the most traditional gifts of nature.

This New Year, may we all enjoy prosperous days and health from within.
